Situated at a key point along hiking routes, the refuge serves as a gateway between the picturesque Bran–Moieciu region and the majestic Bucegi Plateau. Due to heavy snow and rainfall, its structure had suffered significant damage and, without intervention, it would not have survived another winter.

To support the consolidation efforts, the Oxygen Association contributed to covering the logistics and helicopter transport needed to bring heavy materials to the site. In addition, Oxygen employees joined the Om pe Munte team as volunteers, helping with the on-site restoration work.

Beyond the effort, we enjoyed the breathtaking scenery and the satisfaction of knowing that this initiative will help extend the refuge’s life for many years to come.

We can’t wait to hike these trails again and stop by the refuge we were proud to help bring back to life.
